In modern society, everyone is equal, and the concept of son preference has basically disappeared. Sometimes even some families prefer to have a daughter. It is said that daughters are parents' intimate little cotton-padded jackets, and many people prefer daughters, so all children in Tomb-Sweeping Day should pay homage to their parents. Not only for their filial piety, but also for children to set an example.
I have heard a saying that you have no right to choose your parents, but you can choose your own life. It is your choice whether to be a filial person or not, but in my opinion, you should do your duty to pay homage to your parents after their death, regardless of whether they are filial or not, and give the deceased the minimum respect. Some families don't have the tradition of Tomb-Sweeping Day, such as ours, so Tomb-Sweeping Day is no different for our family, but it is another matter to burn incense to the deceased elders every Spring Festival.
For parents, there is no difference between a son and a daughter. They are all their own children. There is no reason not to love them, not to mention that some parents have only one child. Since there is no difference between parents, why should there be a difference when it comes to children? So I think children should honor their parents.
