Cooking custom in Manchu customs
In Manchu funeral, there is the custom of "cooking". During the Liao and Jin Dynasties, Nuzhen had the custom of "burning up sacrifices to eat and drink". Manchu people follow this custom, and rich people burn dogs and horses before they die. Later, Nurhachi and others repeatedly warned to save tableware. They no longer burn dogs and horses except cooking. When burning paper, they only use whips to urge dogs and horses to jump over the fire.

When you come back from the funeral, you should hold a banquet for your relatives and friends who attended the funeral, which is called "giving spiritual meals".

The memorial day is the seventeenth, also called the first seven, which is the seventh day after death. Family and children should bring food and fruit until the grave is burned. Later, there were "March 7th", "May 7th" and "July 7th" commemorative ceremonies.

On100th day, we still have to pay homage, which is called "burning for a hundred days". After the memorial service, family and children take off their mourning clothes at the grave, which is called "taking off filial piety".

On the first anniversary, it was another big move to "burn the anniversary". After that, we will "burn for the third anniversary." Every year in Tomb-Sweeping Day, families and children go to pay homage to the grave.
