Wuchuan City has a long history and profound cultural heritage. Wuchuan Piaose 1992 and 1997 went to Beijing twice to attend CCTV Spring Festival Gala; In 2003, Wuchuan's floating color modeling work "Jin Jing" participated in the first China Cultural Relics Imitation Folk Crafts Exhibition and won the gold medal; In 2005, the Guangdong Provincial Department of Culture named Huang Po Town as "the hometown of folk art in Guangdong Province (Gone with the Wind)"; In May 2006, Guangdong Provincial People's Government listed "Wuchuan Piaose" in the first batch of provincial intangible cultural heritage list; In 2007, Wu Chuanpiao was listed in the "Second Batch of National Intangible Cultural Heritage List", and Wu Chuan clay sculpture was listed in the "Guangdong Intangible Cultural Heritage List" in June 2007.
Wuchuan's floating color originated in Huang Po Town. The floating colors, clay sculptures and flower bridges in Wuchuan City, Zhanjiang, Guangdong Province are called the "Three Wonders of Wuchuan", and the floating colors are the first of the "Three Wonders". According to Chen Shouquan, a folk artist from Huang Po Town, during the late Qing Dynasty, eight villages in Huang Po, Wuchuan, often held god-wandering competitions, and there were costumes and parades to show drama clips, commonly known as "land colors", which attracted attention. In order to win the support of other villages, he and his father creatively held a costume parade. On a wooden box, they designed "Who gave birth", and Xiao flew in the wind on the lotus, so it was called "floating color". After this set of floating colors was exhibited, it traveled all over Huang Po and sensationalized the whole county, which is the origin of Wuchuan floating colors.
[Wuchuan Puppet Show] Wuchuan is known as the "hometown of puppets". Puppet shows have a long history, and the people have a solid foundation in puppet art. Puppet artists have traveled all over the country, Hong Kong, Macao and Southeast Asian countries. He went to Beijing to participate in the national puppet show, and went to Romania to participate in the second international puppet competition and won the silver medal. According to the Records of Wuchuan County, during the Wanli period of the Ming Dynasty, all kinds of puppets were performed everywhere, among which single puppets were the most widely used.
Wuchuan puppet show, commonly known as "ghost play", is the most popular folk art in Wuchuan countryside, especially in Wuyang, Huang Po. Ghost play is generally operated by three people, two people dance puppets and sing in Wuchuan dialect, and one person plays musical instruments (gongs and drums, etc.). Middle-aged and elderly people love "ghost play", but young people almost never ask. Now this kind of drama is on the verge of extinction. Wuchuan in western Guangdong has many folk languages with different pronunciations, especially Huang Po and Wuyang. When Wuchuan dialect was introduced from the Central Plains, its greatest feature was its strong ancient rhyme. Phonologically, Wuchuan dialect is flat, neat and harmonious. Reading ancient poems in Wuchuan dialect is original and rhythmic. When reading "Two orioles singing green willows and a row of egrets soaring into the sky", it is flat and light-just like the melody of the Tang Dynasty, the hometown of the Han Dynasty.
"Hey, you have to watch me for a few minutes, sit down and eat my pet cigarette, and go back to the pot to grab rice at night." Calendar is a unique traditional festival in western Guangdong. The so-called almanac is the almanac. Among many traditional festivals in China, the Spring Festival is the most lively. However, in the Lingnan area of western Guangdong, there is a special festival to celebrate after the Spring Festival, which is a folk custom with local characteristics-Nian Gui. The year in Huangpo area is very lively.
Every year on the eighth day of the fourth lunar month, it is a grand festival for Li people in more than a dozen natural villages such as Shanggao Village in Pingze, Huang Po Town, Wuchuan City, Guangdong Province. On this day, each of them will hold a "tour of Deng Gong" activity. Early in the morning, colorful gates made of bamboo poles rose up at the entrance to the village and the bridge head. Under the banner of "Celebrating April 8th", huge couplets of "In April, there were a sea of people, thunder drummed, dragons and phoenixes danced around the world" and "On the 8th, I greeted the sage in the countryside with joy and played a beautiful spring in Yan language" soared into the sky. At 10 in the morning, honor guards, bunting teams, drum bands, martial arts teams, flower teams, etc. Opened the road, lions and unicorns danced. Then, a group of dashing girls dressed in Tang costumes and emerald underwear danced colorful dragons. The other team, the equally imposing Yellow Dragon Dance Team, followed closely, one by one imposing, beautiful and bearded. Looking forward carefully, they are all pretty girls with graceful waist, with two black beards of different lengths painted on their faces. At one time, the two dragons were neck and neck. Huangpo is located in the plain with dense water network, and the Dragon Boat Festival is very windy. Pingze Village and Tiaoge Village hold grand dragon boat races every year. In 2009, Huang Po Jinna Dragon Boat Team participated in Zhanjiang International Dragon Boat Race on behalf of Wuchuan City, and won the first place in Zhanjiang Group and the second place in the international group.
