Be a perseverant person, a 900-word elementary school student’s weekly diary

In ancient times, many scholarly families had written ancestral precepts and family precepts to educate the next generation to strictly abide by them. Although there are no such articles in modern times, they have been passed down from generation to generation, and the same is true in my family.

Dad is a freelancer, so the title of chef naturally falls on his head. As long as I can remember, I vaguely remember that my father would get up earlier than us every day to prepare breakfast for my mother and me. By the time my mother and I brushed our teeth and washed our faces, a delicious breakfast was already on the dining table. Dad’s smile was particularly bright as he watched us devouring the breakfast he prepared for us. In the evening, when my mother and I went home, my father was busy again in the kitchen. My mother and I are going to help. My father always says that he can do it alone. Let me study hard and let my mother have a good rest. We don’t need to worry about things in the kitchen. Every time delicious food is served and the family of three sits together, our hearts are filled with happiness.

For so many years, my father has never stopped cooking for my mother and me. It is a blessing for him to be able to cook the dishes that our mother and I love to eat. Dad always feeds our stomachs in different ways. When there are no new dishes for a period of time, my father will go to the bookstore or online to study new recipes, and then cook them. When I heard my dad say proudly, "Come on, let's see what delicious food I cooked for you today!", I knew that my mom and I were having sex again. At this time, my mother and I will always be full of expectations. We will gather around, pick up the chopsticks, take a bite, and then give my father 100 likes. At this time, the father's smile filled his cheeks, and his happiness was self-evident. I am deeply influenced by my father’s responsibility.

The same is true for my mother. Her work is very tedious, but she always insists on completing the task and never gives up halfway. She always said to me: "Persistence is victory!" Indeed, my mother will not get angry because I am naughty, nor will she beat me because I do not get the ideal score in the exam, nor will she beat me because of my carelessness. They beat me for breaking valuables, but they reprimand me for being half-hearted and inconsistent.

Ever since I entered elementary school, my mother enrolled me in the Mathematical Olympiad class. I remember that when I was in the third grade, because I was not diligent, I didn’t pay attention in class, I missed a few classes, and I couldn’t connect with the content of the new class, so I couldn’t help but give up. I didn't even do my homework in private, waiting until I failed the exam to drop out of class. At this time, my mother noticed the changes in me. She did not indulge me, but patiently told me: "Falling is not scary, what is scary is not having the courage to stand up. Persistence is victory. Make a little progress every day, and over time, you will be better." We will become better and better. Let's work together!" After listening to my mother's words, I regained my confidence, listened carefully, worked hard, and persisted in learning. Now, my Mathematical Olympiad score has improved significantly.

My father’s example and my mother’s guidance have influenced me in a subtle way. To be a perseverant person and not to give up halfway is what my parents taught me. I will follow in the footsteps of my parents and take every step in a down-to-earth manner.
