2. Breeding and popularization of forage varieties

The feed research in our hospital has great influence in the same industry in China. Our institute has been a member of the National Feed Examination and Approval Committee since its establishment. At present, he is mainly engaged in the breeding of excellent new forage varieties, the research of artificial grassland, the development of local forage resources and the research of grassland ecology in karst areas; More than 30 new forage varieties have been introduced and cultivated, mainly including dwarf elephant grass, Guimu 1 elephant grass, 8493 green forage corn, ryegrass, Stylosanthes, Meng He, Leucaena leucocephala, cajanus cajan, Setaria viridis, paspalum, Labatou and so on. The new variety has been widely used in Baise, Liuzhou, Guilin, Hechi and other cities and counties in our region and in Jiangxi, Hunan, Sichuan, Guangdong and other provinces, with an area of more than 5 million mu and economic benefits of more than 2 billion yuan, which has lifted more than 2 million farmers out of poverty, produced huge economic, social and ecological benefits and changed the passive situation of grass industry in southern China.

3. Breeding and promotion of improved varieties of livestock and poultry

① Pig industry: At present, the breeding technology and promotion of breeding pigs in our hospital are at the leading level in the same industry in China, and the promotion of breeding pigs has covered 27 provinces (autonomous regions) in China. The pig breeding laboratory of our institute is mainly engaged in the breeding and improvement of foreign pigs, the hybrid improvement of local pigs and the breeding of new varieties. Duroc, Yorkshire, Landrace and other excellent original pigs have been introduced from abroad for breeding improvement. By introducing frozen semen from American IBS company, the existing breeding pigs were improved, which changed the goal of importing only pigs in the past, realized cross-border or cross-regional improvement of breeding pigs, saved imported funds and reduced diseases. Since 2004, more than 30,000 lean-type breeding pigs have been promoted nationwide. According to the market demand, the newly cultivated local new breed-Guike Pig, because of its unique meat flavor, is very suitable for rural farming and is very popular in the whole region. At present, our hospital is undertaking the demonstration project of Guangxi Guike fattening pig industrialization, which is the agricultural transfer fund project of the Ministry of Science and Technology. During 2006-2008, we promoted 6,000 breeding pigs in Guike, and established promotion bases in several cities and counties. At present, there are 6 "healthy farms" in Guangxi, 2 of which are evaluated by our hospital. Our institute is carrying out research on pig genetics, breeding and reproduction from the level of molecular biology. In 2007, the first cloned Bama Xiang pig in Guangxi was born in our institute.

② Cattle industry: mainly engaged in the introduction, breeding and improvement of improved cattle (yellow cattle) and the popularization and application of embryo transfer technology. The main excellent breeds I have introduced are Australian Holstein, Juanshan, Simmental, Loulai and American short-horned beef. For many years, we have provided all kinds of excellent breeding cattle and embryos to the society, as well as embryo transfer, artificial insemination and feeding management technology. He has undertaken 7 projects such as cattle breeding improvement and embryo transfer, and the results have reached the domestic advanced level.

③ Poultry industry: Mainly engaged in the research of breeding, improvement, popularization and special breeding of local high-quality chickens in Guangxi. In addition to independently cultivating "Yinxiang Chicken" varieties, our hospital mainly organized local leading chicken enterprises in Guangxi to carry out chicken breeding in recent 10 years, which played a main role in the breeding of local high-quality chicken varieties; And successfully introduced African ostriches, with a stock of more than 2,000, which can provide 1200 commercial birds and 200 breeding birds to the society every year.

4. Construction of key laboratories

In 2008, with the strong support of the Science and Technology Department of the autonomous region, our hospital was awarded the key laboratory project of the autonomous region-"Guangxi Key Laboratory of Animal Husbandry and Feed R&D", which will further improve our research conditions, enhance our research ability and enhance our research stamina. It is planned that in the next 3-5 years, the space for scientific research laboratories in our institute will reach 3,000 square meters, and the total value of various instruments and equipment will be100000 yuan.

5. Aquaculture with R&D characteristics

I attach great importance to the research and development of aquaculture with Guangxi characteristics. At present, the provenances of characteristic breeding varieties studied by our institute mainly include Debao pony, Debao black pig, Guike black pig, Luchuan pig, African ostrich, blue peacock, Longlin black goat, meat rabbit and other local livestock and poultry breeding projects in Guangxi. Actively cooperate with the government's guidance, timely capture and study the new highlights of animal husbandry science and technology, help farmers increase their income, and provide a strong scientific and technological guarantee for the continuous increase of animal husbandry in the whole region.
