Karel dormann class frigate is a Dutch-built frigate, originally named M class. The first ship "Karel dormann" was commissioned in May 199 1, and eight ships are planned to be built. After Chile introduced two second-hand ships. Two Karel-class and dormann-class frigates of Chilean sailors were named "Blanco" from scratch. Admiral Nkala (FF- 15) and frigate Admiral Ribeiros, and the generals on both sides of the hangar (FF- 18).
Captain 122.24m, waterline length 1 14.36m, ship width 14.4m, flight deck length 22m, width 14.4m, draft 4.3m, standard displacement of 2,950 tons and full displacement of 3,950 tons. Cruise speed is 2 1 knot, endurance is 5000 nautical miles/18 knot, crew 154 people, including officers 18 people.
The armament includes: 2 sets of 4-unit Whaling Fork anti-ship missile launchers, 16 combined MK48 ship-to-air missile vertical launcher (launching Haima missile), 2 sets of combined MK32 torpedo tubes (launching MK46 torpedo), 1 set of goalkeeper near defense weapon system, 1 set.

In 2005, Chilean sailors bought three Duke-class frigates from Britain. The total value is about $350 million, including the cost of using and maintaining Chilean sailors by the British side. Karel's dormann-class main force has gradually given way to the Type 23 frigate.
