Translation (English name: translation) is the second step in the process of protein biosynthesis (part of gene expression, including transcription) (transcription is the first step). Translation is the process of decoding the "base sequence" (nucleotide sequence) in mature messenger RNA molecules (produced by DNA transcription) according to the central rules of genetic code, and generating the corresponding specific amino acid sequence. However, many transcribed RNA, such as transporter RNA(tRNA), ribosomal RNA(rRNA) and small nuclear RNA(snRNA), are not translated into amino acid sequences.
