Tingzhou is located in Changting County, Longyan City, Fujian Province. Changting County, referred to as "Ting" for short, belongs to Fujian Province. It is the seat of Tingzhou City in the Central Soviet Area, and the red flag jumps over Tingjiang River. It is located in the west of Fujian Province, at the southern foot of Wuyi Mountain, with Guangdong in the south and Jiangxi in the west. Since ancient times, it has been the frontier of Fujian, Guangdong and Jiangxi provinces, and is known as the "West Gate of Fujian Province".

Li Ting was called Tingzhou in ancient times, and a county was established in Han Dynasty. Since the establishment of Tingzhou in the 24th year of Tang Kaiyuan, it has become one of the five major states, seven prefectures and eight prefectures in Fujian. For more than 1000 years since the Tang Dynasty, Changting has been the seat of state, county, road and government, and the center of science, education and culture of "Hakka culture (western Fujian) ecological protection experimental zone".

Changting, also known as Tingzhou Prefecture, is the first government-run city where Hakka people live in compact communities, and is known as the "Hakka Capital of the World". Changting is also the third batch of national historical and cultural cities approved by the State Council, and the first batch of Hakka Cuisine Hometown in China promulgated by China Cuisine Association.
