I'm a sailor who just got off the boat. I'm a C-class, so I can't run outside. I heard that there are waiters working on (the cargo ship). How about asking an experienced person to answer this job?
Waiters are all from the ship's business department, and most of them help chefs do kitchen chores. On foreign ships, it is to tidy the room and iron the clothes for the senior crew. I serve the officers when eating, but the officers always tip, especially when I am happy to meet the captain. Sometimes I am very pleased:) The general income is ok.
