People are thin when they are born with compassion, and even more rigid when they are old.
I once shared the rain and dew with Artemisia selengensis, and finally sought the frost with pine and cypress.
Translation:
People love bamboo, which is tall, straight and restrained, born thin, and praised as harder and stronger as it gets older.
Bamboo was once moistened by rain and dew with wormwood and tribulus, and finally stood proudly with pine and cypress in the frozen and frosty winter.
2. Bamboo-Li He (Tang)

4, "Bamboo Stone"-Zheng Xie (Qing)
Bamboo is not relaxed at all, its roots are firmly embedded in the cracks in the rocks.
After thousands of tortures and blows, it is still strong, whether it is the southeast wind or the northwest wind in winter, it can bear it and will still be tough and straight.
Translation:
Firmly adhere to the castle peak and not relax, originally deeply rooted in the crevices.
After many trials and tribulations, the bones are still strong and can blow the east and west and the north and south winds.
5. "Hsinchu"-Zheng Banqiao (Qing)
New bamboo is taller than old bamboo, and their growth is supported by old branches.
New students will be born next year, and ten dragons and grandchildren will go around Fengchi.
Translation:
New bamboo is taller than old bamboo, and their growth depends entirely on old branches.
New ones will grow and grow taller next year.
