Topography of Muping District
Mu Ping is located in the middle of Jiaobei ancient uplift, which is a long-term uplift zone. The strata exposed in the territory are mainly metamorphic rocks of the Lower Proterozoic Jiaodong Group. From Proterozoic to Neogene, it has been in a state of uplift, weathering and erosion, and has not been deposited. Until the Cenozoic Quaternary Middle Pleistocene, there were various accumulation layers, and their distribution and thickness were obviously controlled by geographical conditions. Geological history is basically stable for a long time, with simple folds and many faults.
Mu Ping is a mountainous and hilly area, with low hills and plains alternating with each other. The terrain is high in the middle and low in the north and south, showing a roof shape. Mount Kunyu, Que Mountain and many mountains support the roof of Mu Ping, and the highest point, Mount Taibo, is 922.8 meters above sea level. The northern part is a coastal flat, which is formed by alluvial and marine deposits. The ground is flat and the altitude is below 30 meters.
