From Yang Wanli's Two Stories of Xugong Store in Su Xincheng in Song Dynasty.
The fence is sparse, a path leads to the distance, and the petals on the tree fall, but the shade has not yet formed.
The child ran quickly to catch the yellow butterfly, but the butterfly suddenly flew into the vegetable garden and could not be found again.
Beside the sparse fence, there is a path stretching into the distance. The flowers on the roadside trees have withered, but the new leaves have just sprouted and no shade has been formed. A child ran after a yellow butterfly, but it couldn't be found after it flew into the cauliflower.
Creation background
This is the second poem in a series. This group of poems is regarded as the third year of Song Guangzong Shao Xi (A.D. 1 192). At that time, Yang Wanli was appointed as the deputy ambassador of Jiangdong transshipment, based in Jiankang (now Nanjing, Jiangsu). The "new town" in the poem was a town at that time, located in the northeast of Deqing, Zhejiang, between Lin 'an (Hangzhou, Zhejiang) and Jiankang.
Surrounded by land and water, it is the only place for the author to leave Lin 'an for Jiankang or return to Lin 'an from Jiankang to report his work. The author passed by here, stopped for a short time, saw the scenery and felt it, so he wrote this group of poems.
