It's finally getting cold, so I decided to go to the former residence of Ms. Soong Ching Ling and see the residence of this great woman in China in the 20th century, the place where she lived the longest.

Go around and come to Joffrey Street-well, it's a little foreign. Now it's called Huaihai Middle Road. This once famous French Concession in Shanghai.

The architectural style here is very retro, and it seems that it still retains the flavor of old Shanghai.

There are not many people in this street today, only foreign friends in twos and threes are taking pictures and walking.

Opposite Soong Ching Ling's former residence is the bookstore. I walked in and walked around. There are many people reading books in the bookstore, which is very quiet. Melodious light music gushed out from the corner of the bookstore, mixed with pure breath straight into the readers' ears. The bookstore is elegant in style and full of charm, which makes people feel like they are in another completely isolated world.

Stay here for a long time, and your soul will sublimate.

But today, I don't have time to sit quietly and read, so I have to buy two books to take home.

After buying the ticket, I entered the former residence of Soong Ching Ling. To my surprise, this is a very small villa, much smaller than I expected. There are only two small gardens for foreign guests, a modest building and a garage, and nothing else.

The furnishings in the main house are simple, but most of them are calligraphy and painting antiques donated by celebrities of that era, which are extremely precious.

The room is very small, including bedroom and living room, which makes me speechless. There is even a typewriter next to the bathtub in the bathroom.

Although the space is small, no matter which window you look from, you can see the lush garden, which makes people feel happy and comfortable.

This small kitchen is used by Ms. Song for cooking. Very small and narrow, showing the simplicity of the owner.

It is hard to imagine that the residence of a new-age woman who has made such outstanding contributions to China and has a good family background can be so frugal. Thinking of Lu Xiaoman, Zhao Si and Tang Ying, all famous people in old Shanghai, I have to say that her greatness lies in the details.

Go up the stairs and you will find Ms. Soong Ching Ling's living room. The living room is very small, with only one set of tables and chairs and sofa. There is a big photo of Sun Yat-sen hanging on the wall of the living room.

In such a small living room, there are many great men who have influenced the world, including Mao Zedong, Zhou Enlai, Deng Xiaoping and Indonesian presidents.

On the left side of the living room is the bedroom of Ms. Soong Ching Ling and Mr. Sun Yat-sen, which is not big either. One set of furniture was given to Ms. Soong Ching Ling by her parents when they got married, and then there was a small bed, and nothing else.

Out of the living room is the bathroom, which is also very simple. There is only one bathtub and the basic equipment of the bathroom.

Besides these, there is an old typewriter on the desk in the corner, where their usual typing work is actually done.

Come out again. This is their office.

There are glasses, pens, ink and inkstones used by Dr. Sun Yat-sen on a table. There are some books and antique plates on the other table. There are some antique calligraphy and painting on the wall, that's all.

However, in such a small office, Soong Ching Ling completed a large number of works of historical significance to society here.

"Sister Li" Li Yane's bedroom is in the outer room. Open the window and you can have a panoramic view of the garden.

The camphor trees in the front and back gardens are evergreen with lush trees and grass. When I came here, I seemed to see Ms. Soong Ching Ling walking leisurely in the garden.

Out of the garden is the garage. Seeing these cars, I can't help thinking of Ms. Soong Ching Ling sitting in the car.

After visiting here, and even visiting the place where Ms. Soong Ching Ling stayed for fifteen years, I feel that it is not enough, far from enough. How come there are only so many? How can the place where such a great man lives be so simple?

But the truth is really over.

It seems that the heart is still in the attic, in the garden, on the tree-lined path covered with camphor trees.
