Yanjin County is named after a salt well producing salt and a ferry crossing the flood season. Yanjin County, belonging to Zhaotong City, Yunnan Province, is located at the junction of Yun Chuan in the northeast of Yunnan, in the middle of Zhaotong and Yibin, bordering Junlian, Gaoxian and Xuzhou in Sichuan in the northeast, Yiliang in Yunnan in the south, Daguan, Yongshan and Suijiang in Yunnan in the west and Shuifu County in the north.
