How to reduce the influence of TV on health?

The flame retardant in TV sets will split at high temperature, resulting in dioxin bromide, which is harmful to human health. So what should we pay attention to when watching TV?

When watching TV, it is best to take air every 1 hour 10 minute, so as to effectively reduce the indoor concentrations of inhalable particles and brominated dioxins. In addition, don't eat while watching TV, because bromodioxins have a strong adsorption capacity on food.

When watching TV, you should sit in front of the TV, and the best distance is 6-8 times the diagonal of the TV picture. Wash bare skin with warm water after watching TV.

After the TV set is used for a period of time, it is best to ask professionals to dust it, or simply use a small vacuum cleaner to dust the cooling holes.

It's no use opening the window in traffic jams.

Traffic jams are common in cities. In case of traffic jam, many people will roll down their windows to get some air, or turn off the air conditioner and open the windows to save fuel. As we all know, it is best not to open the window when there is traffic jam.

According to experts, the places with serious traffic jams are narrow, crowded, with poor air circulation and high benzopyrene content. Benzopyrene is a kind of gas with special smell, which is produced when burning gasoline, coal or smoking. It not only stimulates the respiratory tract, but also is a carcinogen. In addition, due to the incomplete combustion of the engine, other harmful substances, such as benzene, toluene, xylene and suspended particles, will be produced in the air.

Generally speaking, the main roads and traffic lights are seriously polluted. The main roads in expressway are easy to form banded pollution zones, and the pollution degree is centered on the main roads and gradually weakens from the middle to both sides. At the intersection of traffic lights, when the green light is on, the engine begins to release toxic gases.

In fact, many people open windows to breathe because they are annoyed when they encounter traffic jams. At this time, you might as well listen to music or chat to relax your mood, or you can conceive a dinner menu or plan your work for a week, so that you won't feel tired of traffic jams.

How to clear and reduce the air pollution of new cars

With the improvement of people's living standards, some consumers have bought their beloved new cars, but the air pollution in new cars has attracted more and more attention. Experts remind car buyers to pay attention:

1. Never close the window when the new car is opened for half a year, use air conditioning as little as possible, strengthen ventilation, and release harmful substances in the car as soon as possible;

2. If the owner has his own garage, he can open the doors and windows for ventilation at any time when he is not driving;

3. The interior should be YEATION to prevent some floor glue and seat covers containing harmful substances from being decorated in the car;

4. Newly-bought textiles such as car seat covers are easy to contain formaldehyde, so it is best to rinse them with clean water before use.

5. You can choose some plants, flowers or fruits that can release fragrance and put them in the car. However, this can only cover up the unpleasant smell in the new car, but it can't remove the air pollution of the vehicle;

6. Many car owners like to spray perfume in their cars to improve the smell of new cars. They should pay attention to the choice of natural materials. At present, many perfumes are chemical synthetic products, which have certain pollution, so we should choose them carefully.

7, the use of car air purifier and other purifying agents must be cautious. At present, some manufacturers have produced some products to purify the air in the car, which can reduce the pollution in the car to a certain extent, but we must pay attention to choosing products with good effect and small side effects;

8. If the owner finds himself with physical symptoms after driving a new car for a period of time, such as smoking in his eyes, respiratory irritation or even dizziness, and if the smell cannot be completely distributed within three months or even six months, the air quality inside the car should be tested to find and remove the pollution sources inside the car as soon as possible;

9. Four types of people should pay special attention to the hazards of pollutants from new cars: people with weak constitution, women and children, and people with allergic constitution. These people should try to avoid driving and riding new cars for a long time. Studies have proved that women are particularly sensitive to the inhalation of benzene and formaldehyde, especially during pregnancy, which will lead to fetal malformation and abortion.

Small knowledge of energy saving

1, how to use energy-saving lamps correctly

Energy-saving lamps are energy-saving products that people often use at home, so how to use them correctly to achieve the best energy-saving effect? The reporter recently learned from the National Development and Reform Commission that the following five points should be paid attention to in the correct use of energy-saving lamps:

First, pay attention to the use voltage marked on the lamp. If a low-pressure sodium lamp is used under a high-voltage power supply, the lamp will burn out.

Second, users should use qualified brands, be vigilant and refuse to use inferior products.

Third, pay attention to the selection and correct use of lamp power supply. The light efficiency of energy-saving lamps is generally five times higher than that of incandescent lamps. Where 60-watt incandescent lamps used to be used, now only 13 watt energy-saving lamps are enough.

The fourth is to minimize the number of lights turned on and off. Every time it is switched on and off, the service life of the lamp will be reduced by about 3 hours.

Fifth, after the lamp is used for a period of time, the luminous flux will drop greatly and the lamp will get darker and darker. At this time, attention should be paid to replacing the new lamp in time.

2, the correct use of gas stoves should pay attention to the following six points:

1. When natural gas burns, the flame is red and yellow, indicating lack of oxygen, and the phenomenon of "flameout" indicates too much air. At this time, the air door of the furnace can be properly adjusted. When the flame is purple-blue, it means full combustion.

Second, when cooking, you should first prepare the dishes to be cooked and then ignite them to avoid burning them into an "empty stove"; If it's a soup or stew, boil it with high fire first, and turn off the heat as long as it keeps the pot boiling without overflowing.

Third, when cooking, the size of the fire can be determined according to the size of the pot, and the flame distribution area is equal to the bottom of the pot.

Fourth, it is best not to steam when cooking. Steamed rice takes three times as long as braised rice.

Five, should first wipe off the water stains on the surface of the pot, and then put the pot on the fire, so as to make the heat energy enter the pot as soon as possible and save gas.

6. If the wind makes the flame waver, you can make a "windshield" with thin iron sheets to ensure the concentration of firepower.

3. Avoid spare appliances.

For convenience, many people turn off the TV with the remote control after watching it, but they don't know that this is just to let the TV stand by and it still consumes a lot of power. The reporter learned from the Resources Department of Hebei Provincial Development and Reform Commission that all kinds of household appliances are in standby state for a long time, which will consume a lot of electricity.

Take the TV set as an example. On average, each TV stands by for 2 hours every day, and the standby power consumption is 0.02 kWh. There are 350 million TV sets in China, and the annual standby power consumption is as high as 2.555 billion kWh, which is equivalent to the sum of the annual power generation of several large thermal power plants.

In layman's terms, standby refers to turning off the remote control without turning off the electrical switch or power supply. At present, most household appliances have standby function, and the power consumption of each household appliance in standby state is generally about 10% of its starting power, which is about 5 watts-15 watts. The standby energy consumption of TV, air conditioner, stereo and microwave oven owned by ordinary families of urban residents is equivalent to turning on a 30-50 watt ever-burning lamp. According to statistics, the monthly standby power consumption of household appliances reaches 20-40 degrees for urban residents with high household appliance penetration rate.

It can be said that in daily life, behind the temporary convenience, it has caused waste. So try not to leave home appliances in standby state, but turn off the electrical switch or completely turn off the power supply.

Pollution in life

Modern life not only brings us enjoyment, but also creates pollution that is harmful to health. Many people often forget this when enjoying modern life, ignoring all kinds of dangerous pollution sources. Here we list several categories that are close to daily life to remind everyone.

One of pollution: napkins

People use napkins for hygiene reasons, but if the napkins themselves are unreliable, it will be counterproductive.

Experts pointed out that due to the inevitable use of pesticides in the process of crop planting, paper materials such as straw and wheat straw often contain pesticide residues. Some manufacturers also mix some recycled paper into pulp. Although decolored, harmful substances such as aluminum and cadmium remain in the pulp, and impurities, harmful substances and microorganisms in the recycled waste paper are not completely washed away. In addition, the production, packaging, transportation, storage and sales of napkins are not scientific and rigorous, which is also the root cause of pollution. Generally speaking, napkins are easily contaminated by pathogenic pyogenic bacteria, Escherichia coli, fungi and hepatitis virus, which can cause infectious diseases such as dysentery, suppurative infection and hepatitis.

Pollution 2: correction fluid

At present, the correction fluid often used by students contains dichloromethane, trichloroethane and p-xylene, which is highly volatile and free in the air. Inhalation of xylene can cause chronic poisoning, such as headache, drowsiness and nausea. Dichloromethane, trichloroethane, etc. Invasion of people's nervous system will lead to drowsiness, dizziness, fidgeting, loss of appetite and slow action.

Someone once put cotton soaked in a small amount of dichloromethane, trichloroethane and p-xylene on the sides of two groups of mice. The group with large dosage of reagent convulsed and died in only 5 minutes. In the group, mice are tested for five to eight minutes every day. Within five days, the mouse panicked, ate less, moved slowly and lost weight. In view of this situation, scientists remind people not to use correction fluid again.

The third pollution: Fluorescent Holdings

American Consumer Goods magazine pointed out that most children's toys "glow sticks" produced in the United States and Taiwan Province Province of China should be discarded immediately after being used to celebrate festivals, so as to avoid unintentional injuries to children.

Our magazine said that after receiving complaints, it was found that the components of fluorescent seat contained dimethyl phthalate and dibutyl phthalate, which was of low toxicity. If it is accidentally broken and comes into contact with leaked chemicals, it should be cleaned and disposed of immediately. If inhaled or touched carelessly, it will cause nausea, dizziness, paralysis and even coma.

Pollution 4: fluorescent screen

German researchers have confirmed that TV and computer screens can produce a harmful gas that may cause cancer.

It is reported that this harmful gas is called dibenzofuran bromide. The test shows that the content of this gas measured in the room after three days of continuous use of the TV set is equivalent to the content of dibenzofuran bromide measured at an intersection. Therefore, scientists advise people to stay away from TV as much as possible when watching TV; The room where the TV is placed should be ventilated, especially after the TV is used for several hours. It must be ventilated for a long time, especially the new TV.

Fifth pollution: "stagnant water" in tap water

When you turn on the tap for the first time in the morning, sometimes the tap water often turns yellow. The reason why the tap water turns yellow is that the "stagnant water" that has not flowed for a long time in the water pipe is polluted by metal substances after contacting with the metal pipe. According to analysis, this kind of water contains many substances harmful to human body, which is neither drinkable nor suitable for gargling and brushing teeth. In addition, under the action of "stagnant water", the faucet that has been stopped for a night and is not often used may contain a bacterium called Legionella, which is the chief culprit of an acute respiratory infectious disease.

Therefore, this "stagnant water" should be released first in the morning, and then used when the clear water flows out.

Pollution 6: Early morning air

Many people are used to opening the window immediately in the morning, thinking that it can let the fresh air outside into the room. I wonder if this will backfire. Because 5 million tons of carbon dioxide and harmful gases are discharged into the atmosphere every day on the earth, and early morning is the peak of air pollution, it is obviously not good for human body to open the window for ventilation. Health experts tell us that the best time to open the window for ventilation is 9: 00-1:00 in the morning or 14: 00- 16: 00 in the afternoon, because the temperature rises in these two periods, the phenomenon of countercurrent layer disappears, and the visible but harmless gas deposited in the lower atmosphere also dissipates. At this time, window ventilation is the most scientific.

Common sense of environmental protection in family decoration

1. What is home improvement and environmental protection?

Environmental protection of home decoration means that the indoor air quality index after decoration reaches or exceeds the national environmental protection testing standards. It mainly includes physical, chemical, biological and radioactive indicators.

2. What do you usually mean by "home improvement pollution"?

The materials used in interior decoration emit harmful and toxic pollutants, which pollute the indoor environment. This kind of indoor pollution from the decoration itself is called home improvement pollution. If the pollutant content in home decoration is too high, it will cause people's physical discomfort and affect their health if it is not solved for a long time.

3. Briefly introduce several main pollutants in home improvement.

According to the use of building, decoration and furniture materials in China, indoor home improvement pollutants mainly include the following categories:

formaldehyde

Benzene series: benzene, toluene, xylene.

Total volatile organic compounds (TVOC)

Free toluene diisocyanate (TDI)

Soluble heavy metal elements such as lead, cadmium, chromium and mercury.

4. The source of most pollution in home improvement.

Mainly in three aspects, the building itself, decoration materials and new furniture purchased.

Formaldehyde pollutants exist in most decorative materials and furniture. Such as: inferior wood-based panels, adhesives, unqualified coatings.

Benzene compounds exist in organic solvents and paint thinners of various building materials, and also exist in a large number of unqualified waterproof materials.

Materials containing total volatile organic compounds (TVOC) pollutants include paints and latex paints.

Toluene diisocyanate (TDI) pollutants mostly exist in polyurethane coating products.

Paints and adhesives containing heavy metal pollutants.

Radioactive substances contained in radon, marble floors and stones.

5. Is home improvement pollutant the root cause of disease?

Pollutants in home decoration can make people sick, but there are many reasons for making people sick. The newly renovated house, the pollutant content in the family decoration is too high, which can not meet the new national environmental protection standards, and it will obviously affect the health if it is not solved for a long time.

However, experts pointed out that there is still no scientific evidence that a disease is caused by indoor air pollution. Therefore, it is more important and effective to prevent air pollution from exceeding the standard than to investigate the responsibility afterwards.

Classified treatment of domestic waste

Domestic garbage can generally be divided into four categories: recyclable garbage, kitchen garbage, harmful waste and other garbage. At present, the commonly used garbage disposal methods mainly include comprehensive utilization, sanitary landfill, incineration and composting.

1. Recyclable garbage includes paper, metal, plastic, glass, etc. Through comprehensive treatment and recycling, pollution is reduced and resources are saved. If every 1 ton of waste paper is recycled, 850 kilograms of paper can be made, 300 kilograms of wood can be saved, and pollution is reduced by 74% compared with the same output; Every 1 ton plastic beverage bottle can recover 0.7 tons of secondary raw materials; Every recovered 1 ton of scrap steel can produce 0.9 tons of steel, which saves 47% cost compared with ore smelting, reduces air pollution by 75%, and reduces water pollution and solid waste by 97%.

2. Kitchen waste includes food waste such as leftovers, bones, roots and leaves. After in-situ composting by biotechnology, 0.3 tons of organic fertilizer can be produced per ton.

3. Hazardous wastes include waste batteries, waste fluorescent tubes, waste water silver thermometers, expired drugs, etc. These wastes need special safety treatment.

4. Other wastes include bricks and tiles, waste residue, toilet waste paper and other wastes that are difficult to recycle. Sanitary landfill can effectively reduce the pollution of groundwater, surface water, soil and air.

Beware of "Five Killers" in Fresh Vegetables

Black seed 1: uncooked green beans

According to experts, green beans, also known as long beans, mainly contain nitrite and saponin. The main causes of poisoning are improper processing methods, incomplete heating, and the toxin is not destroyed. Studies have shown that boiling green beans to about 80℃ will increase the toxicity of beans, especially the immature and uncooked beans in Silly Boy are more toxic. The poisoning time of green beans ranges from half an hour to five hours after eating, and the longest poisoning time can reach more than ten hours. The main symptoms of poisoning are nausea, vomiting, abdominal pain, diarrhea and dizziness.

Expert advice: high temperature full cooking. Saponin contained in green beans can destroy toxicity at 100℃ or by heating for more than 30 minutes. When cooking, it must be cooked and fried thoroughly. It's best to stew and eat. Be sure to fully heat it with boiling water before frying. Don't stir fry quickly when frying, don't covet crispness and save time. When processing green beans in a large pot, we should pay more attention to stir-frying evenly, cooking and stewing thoroughly, so that green beans lose their original green and bean smell.

Heizai No.2: Fresh Day Lily

According to reports, fresh day lily, also known as day lily, tastes fresh and sweet because of gluttony. In recent years, some consumers like to buy fresh day lilies, which have just been picked for soup and boiling. But in fact, fresh day lily contains colchicine, which is oxidized into colchicine in the body, which has a strong stimulating effect on the digestive system and urinary system, but has an inhibitory effect on the nervous system. Severe poisoning can damage the kidneys, leading to hematuria and anuria. It can paralyze the spinal cord and medulla oblongata, and if there is ascending paralysis, it will die of respiratory paralysis within a day or two. The clinical manifestations are nausea, vomiting and abdominal pain. It takes 12 to 30 minutes to eat fresh daylily that is not properly processed, and the elderly will get sick in 4 to 8 hours.

Expert advice: soak in water for 30 minutes before cooking; When processing fresh daylily, be careful not to fry it directly, but to cook it thoroughly in boiling water, squeeze out the water after it softens, and then rinse it with clear water several times before frying it. Experts suggest that fresh daylily can be steamed dry, soaked in water before eating, and then further processed and eaten.

Black boy 3: sprouted potatoes

The toxic substance of germinated potato is solanine, which has strong irritation and corrosiveness to gastrointestinal mucosa and paralysis to central nervous system. Poisoning by eating germinated potatoes by mistake, the incubation period is usually 10 minutes to several hours, characterized by itching and burning sensation in the throat, burning or pain in the upper abdomen, and then severe nausea, vomiting, diarrhea and so on. In severe cases, it can lead to death.

Expert advice: germinated parts and discolored potato meat should not be eaten. If a potato germinates in only one or two places, you can pull out the bud, dig out the discolored potato meat, and then soak it in cold water for more than half an hour to dissolve the residual toxin in water. If there are too many buds or the flesh is blue, you can't eat any more. Put a little vinegar when frying potatoes in the pot, which can accelerate the destruction of toxins and prevent poisoning.

Black Boy 4: Wild Mushrooms of Unknown Origin

There are many cases of Guangdong people eating poisonous wild mushrooms by mistake. There are more than 200 kinds of poisonous bacteria in China, and there are more than 100 kinds of poisonous bacteria known in Guangdong. Poisonous wild mushrooms can damage people's nervous system, causing hallucinations, coma and convulsions. Some toxins can harm people's liver and kidneys, causing fever and diarrhea. In severe cases, even hemolysis.

Experts suggest: when buying edible mushrooms or wild mushrooms, go to large shopping malls, or buy them at farmers' markets, and buy packaged products with addresses and telephone numbers marked on the packaging bags. Experts believe that it is safer and more reliable to buy artificially cut mushrooms.

Black boy 5: humble little broad bean

Broad beans are not suitable for a certain group of people. According to experts, some people in Hakka area of Guangdong Province have congenital G6PD enzyme deficiency in their blood. If they accidentally eat broad beans, it will cause hemolysis, anemia, fever, renal failure and other symptoms.

Expert advice: It is best to know in advance whether you lack G6PD enzyme in your body, and you can know it by checking your blood. If you really lack G6PD enzyme, you should stay away from broad beans.

Special reminder

According to Dai, director of the Institute of Public Health of Guangdong Provincial Center for Disease Control and Prevention, in Guangdong, there are more cases of poisoning caused by excessive pesticides in vegetables than the toxins in vegetables themselves. It is estimated that there are more than a dozen cases of poisoning caused by eating vegetables with excessive pesticide residues in Guangdong every year.

So, in order to ensure food safety, what should consumers do with newly bought vegetables? Director Dai told reporters that as an ordinary consumer, the best treatment steps for vegetable cleaning are: cleaning; Soak for the second time for at least half an hour; Third scalding, scalding with boiling water for the first time; Four explosions.

Drinking water is not as pure as possible.

In recent years, people have put forward higher requirements for the sanitation of water use. Distilled water, purified water and space water are becoming commodities and entering people's lives. Some units also supply pure water to residential areas to guide people to use this water as basic drinking water. In fact, this practice is not appropriate.

Water in nature is always in contact with the atmosphere, soil, rocks and so on. In the process of contact, some substances are dissolved or suspended in it, resulting in various "impurities" in natural water, such as calcium, magnesium, potassium, sodium, iron, manganese, carbon, ammonia, silicon, aluminum, phosphorus and other compounds. In addition, there are many microorganisms living in natural water, such as various fungi. Many "impurities" in natural water are necessary for human body, such as trace elements such as calcium and fluorine. Water is one of the main sources for human body to obtain these trace elements.

Some people with mirror images of the environment, such as people in arid and desert areas, use distilled water as a supplement because of the lack of drinking water, which will not bring adverse effects to their health. But this kind of water will be unhealthy if it is used as drinking water for a long time. After pure water enters the human body, it will also take away trace elements in the body. It can be seen that drinking water is not as pure as possible, and people should drink more natural water, of course, it should be clean water.

How to identify contaminated fish

The polluted fish mentioned here mainly refers to chemical pollution. With the development of human science, technology and production, especially the wide application of pesticides and fertilizers, and the discharge of countless industrial waste gases, wastewater and waste residues, some toxic substances, such as mercury, phenol, cyanide, organochlorine, organophosphorus, sulfide, nitride, fluoride, arsenic and p-nitrobenzene, are mixed in soil and air, continuously injected into fish ponds, rivers or lakes, and even directly enter the water system, causing large-scale water pollution. Contaminated fish, light, smelly and deformed; Or death. When people eat contaminated fish by mistake, toxic substances will be transferred to the human body and gradually accumulate in the human body, causing diseases. For example, organic pesticides can lead to stunting, mental retardation and dwarfism in children; Heavy metal salts can cause joint pain and cancer. Some substances are highly toxic and more harmful to human health.

First, deformity

Deformity is an important feature of polluted fish, because anglers are very familiar with the shapes of all kinds of fish, and it is not difficult to identify them as long as they observe them carefully. Polluted fish tend to have shorter bodies and higher heights, and the dorsal fin bulges, the base of the anal fin protrudes, and the vertical distance from the starting point of the anal fin to the base of the dorsal fin increases. The dorsal fin is short, the fin is tight and the ventral fin is slender; The pectoral fin generally exceeds the base of the ventral fin; The scales above the base of the gluteal fin are closely arranged without disorder; The lateral line of the fish body is irregularly curved at the back of the body. In severe deformity, the back of the fish is skinny, and the lateral line after the starting point of the gluteal fin disappears. Another important feature is that the fins of polluted fish are mostly fragile and easy to identify.

Second, fish containing phenol.

Fish eyes are prominent, body color is sallow, and scales are dull. The gill cover is broken, and you can smell kerosene obviously. When cooking, even if it is covered with heavy condiments, it is still pungent and disgusting. Fish contaminated with phenol is inedible.

3. Fish containing benzene

The fish body is dim, the fish eyes are prominent, the gill cover is lifted, and there is a strong smell of bhc powder. After cooking, it is still pungent and tastes very astringent. Fish containing benzene is more toxic than fish containing phenol, so it is forbidden to eat.

Four, mercury-containing fish

Fish eyes are generally not prominent. This fish is gray and dull. Muscles tighten and harden. Open the gill cover, you can't smell the bad smell. After high temperature heating, some or most of the mercury can be volatilized, but there are still many mercury toxins in fish, which are not suitable for eating.

Five, phosphorus, chlorine fish

The fish's eyes are prominent and the scales are loose, so it can be seen that the fish is swollen. You can smell a pungent smell when you open the gill cover. When the gill filaments are covered with mucus blood, bloody pus is ejected and the entrance feels numb. Fish contaminated with phosphorus and chlorine should be avoided.

Eating contaminated fish may lead to chronic poisoning, acute poisoning, and even induce various diseases, which may be teratogenic and carcinogenic. If you find symptoms of poisoning, you should go to the hospital for treatment in time.

How harmful are preservatives?

Preservatives are the most controversial among all kinds of food additives. Preservatives are needed for long-term preservation of food, and people are worried about the use of preservatives. What is the use of preservatives in ordinary food? What kind of security risks will it bring to consumers? China Consumers Association recently issued Consumer Warning No.2 (200 1), pointing out that "preservatives" in food are related to health.

■ What is a preservative? According to experts, preservatives are food additives aimed at maintaining the original quality and nutritional value of food, which can inhibit microbial activities and prevent food from spoilage, thus extending the shelf life.

■ Is preservative harmful to human body? Because the preservatives currently used are mostly synthetic, exceeding the standard will cause certain harm to the human body. Therefore, there are strict regulations on the use of preservatives in China, and it is clear that preservatives should meet the following standards: 1, and reasonable use is harmless to human health; 2, it does not affect the flora of digestive tract; 3. It can be degraded into normal ingredients of food in the digestive tract; 4, does not affect the use of drugs and antibiotics; 5. No harmful components will be produced during food heat treatment.

■ What are the food preservatives approved in China? So far, only 32 kinds of food preservatives have been approved for use in China, among which benzoic acid and sorbic acid are the most commonly used. Benzoic acid is more toxic than sorbic acid, and its bacteriostatic effect is only 1/3 of sorbic acid at the same acidity, so many countries gradually switch to sorbic acid. However, because of its low price, benzoic acid and its sodium salt are still used as main preservatives in China, mainly used in carbonated drinks and fruit juices. Sorbic acid and its salts have strong antibacterial activity and low toxicity. They are unsaturated fatty acids, which can participate in the normal metabolism of human body and be converted into carbon dioxide and water. Sorbic acid is becoming more and more popular because of its good antiseptic effect and no adverse effect on food taste. In addition, from the perspective of the future development trend of preservatives, natural preservatives will become the protagonist of development.

■ Is the so-called "this product does not contain any preservatives" credible? After adding preservatives to food, some manufacturers did not indicate the use of preservatives in the labels for fear of consumers' doubts. Some even use preservatives, and publicize on the packaging that "this product does not contain any preservatives", misleading and deceiving consumers, seriously infringing on consumers' right to know. The recent test results of 12 1 canned carbonated drinks by China Consumers Association showed that 7 kinds of drinks were labeled with preservatives, accounting for 8% of the total beverages containing preservatives.

■ How to correctly understand preservatives in food? Consumers should treat preservatives rationally and make it clear that preservatives can not only prevent food deterioration, but also prevent food poisoning, which is undoubtedly beneficial to consumers' safe consumption; But at the same time, preservatives are synthetic, improper use will have certain side effects, and long-term excessive intake will cause certain damage to consumers' health. Children, pregnant women and other special people who belong to the special period of physical development should be protected in food intake, and it is recommended not to give them too much food with preservatives.

■ Call on government management departments to intensify the crackdown on illegal abuse of preservatives, constantly improve laws and regulations on synthetic additives, especially preservatives, and control the production and use of preservatives within the most reasonable range. Make more detailed regulations on labeling, such as requiring food production enterprises to clearly indicate "containing preservatives: XXX, XXX" on product labels, and indicate the dosage, so that consumers can see at a glance when purchasing and make objective and clear judgments.

"Green food" is not necessarily "pure natural"

In the eyes of ordinary consumers, green food must be pure natural, not smeared.

Chemical fertilizers and pesticides. But experts say no.

Chen Dawei, an expert of China Environmental Label Product Certification Committee, said: "There is no green food certification in developed countries, and the so-called green food certified by China is not pure natural food."

Before the "Eleventh", more than 80 kinds of agricultural products marked "Green A" appeared in the Beijing market, and the slogan of "pure natural and pollution-free" was played. Chen Dawei believes that the exact name of green food certified by the Ministry of Agriculture should be "safe food". This agricultural product is not pollution-free, but the pollutants do not exceed the prescribed standards. Developed countries have a set of strict standards for agricultural products pollutants, and only when all indicators meet the standards can they be listed. In fact, some domestic green products have implemented some basic international safety standards, but they are by no means high standards, which can only show that the chemicals in their products are within the acceptable range.

Which plastic bags are poisonous?

Food bags on the market can be packed dry, wet, raw and cooked, which is safe and non-toxic. Plastic bags for packaging food in food factories and preserves factories are of course non-toxic. Plastic bags used to pack daily necessities, clothes, shoes and socks, electrical appliances and hardware parts may be toxic and not suitable for food.

Non-toxic plastic bags are generally made of polyethylene and toxic plastic bags are made of polyvinyl chloride. Because there is unpolymerized vinyl chloride monomer in PVC resin, it is a compound that will be toxic to human body. In addition, in the process of processing PVC resin into plastic bags, some auxiliary materials such as plasticizers, stabilizers, pigments, etc. Some auxiliary materials are toxic. These toxic substances are easily extracted by oil or water in food and eaten with food, which is harmful to human health.

PVC resin itself is non-toxic. If the free vinyl chloride monomer is reduced to a few in the production of PVC resin, and the nontoxic auxiliary materials are strictly selected in the production of finished products, nontoxic PVC plastic bags can be made.

It is generally difficult to distinguish polyethylene plastic bags from PVC plastic bags. By burning, it is easy to identify. Polyethylene can burn, the flame is blue, the upper end is yellow, and it emits paraffin smell when burning; PVC is extremely difficult to burn. It was yellow when it caught fire, and green outside, giving off a pungent smell of hydrochloric acid.

Whether plastic bags are toxic in use is also related to the method of use. Some food bags are printed with words such as trademarks. It is unsafe to turn the food bag upside down and let the food be stained with these pigments.
