Yoshimoto Banana, 1964 was born in Tokyo, Japan, and graduated from the Art Department of Japanese University. 1987 won Haiyan Newcomer Literature Award for "Kitchen". His major works include A Sad Foresight, Manna, N.P. and Rainbow. In 2000, he won the Italian Domag Prize for Literature for Neither Fish nor South America. He co-published three works with the famous Japanese artist Nara Yoshitomo: Ruthless Doom, Argentine Mother-in-law and The Life of a Daisy. It enjoys a high reputation in Europe, America and Asian countries.
