Shenyang Taiyuan Street Commercial Pedestrian Street, located in Heping District, Shenyang, adjacent to Shenyang Station, is one of the most famous commercial streets in China.
History:
In AD 1898, Shenyang Railway Station became the concession area of Russia, and the little-known trail "Xisitiao Street" became the predecessor of Taiyuan Street, which is now famous in Northeast China. 19 19, the Japanese invaders forcibly changed all the streets attached to Manchuria Railway to Japanese names, and "Xisi Street" was also shamefully called "Chunri Town".
The Russo-Japanese War ended with the victory of Japan. It was a war of a third country, aimed at plundering the northeast of China. At the beginning of 1905, Japan occupied Shenyang and changed the former Russian "railway annex" (in the area of present-day Xita) into "Manchuria railway annex". 19 10, the "Fengtian Post" was built by "Manchuria Railway" (that is, the prototype of Shenyang Railway Station today). After the completion of "Fengtian Post", "Manchuria Railway" accelerated its "affiliated" new street plan. The so-called Xinshi Street, centering on "Fengtian Post", opens three trunk lines eastward, namely, today's Zhonghua Road, Zhongshan Road and Zhu Min Road. Zhonghua Road is perpendicular to "Fengtiantie", and the other two radiate obliquely. There is a north-south street in front of the station, which is today's Shengli Street, and there are more than a dozen streets on an equal footing with Shengli Street. The main routes are Nanjing Street and Heping Street today. Today, Taiyuan Street is located in the east of the station and west of Nanjing Street, which is one of the north-south commercial streets. Formerly known as "Spring Town".
After liberation, this century-old street was officially called "Taiyuan Street". 198 1 year later, in the wave of reform and opening up, Taiyuan Street gradually developed into a commercial street with many merchants and a long commercial history.
After nearly a hundred years of historical vicissitudes, today's "Taiyuan Street Business Circle" mainly refers to the modern commercial center in Shenyang with Zhonghua Road, Taiyuan Street and Zhongshan Road as the main framework.
