The traditional customs of Zuo Quan are as follows: Folk songs and Xiaohua Opera are the most distinctive traditional cultural forms in Zuoquan County. In 2006, "Zuo Quan coloratura" declared by Zuoquan County was selected into the first batch of national intangible cultural heritage list.

The predecessor of Zuo Quan Xiaohua Opera was called "Wenshe Fire". The popular folk art forms in ancient Liaozhou are collectively called "Liaozhou Shehuo". Besides Wenshe Fire, there are Wushe Fire, Xiaoyangge, Shout, Playing Dragon Lantern, Lion Dance and Running Bamboo Horse.

Zuo Quan folk songs are very popular, and most of the lyrics are improvised. The representative songs of Zuo Quan folk songs include Peach Blossom Red, Apricot Blossom White, Take Your Time with Something on Your Mind, Meet My Brother, Kiss My Brother, Miss My Brother, and Return Home.

Zuoquan County was originally named Liao County. 1942 On May 25th, General Zuo Quan, Deputy Chief of Staff of the Eighth Route Army of the National Revolutionary Army, died here. In memory of General Zuo Quan, Shanxi people renamed the county Zuo Quan.

Zuoquan County, affiliated to Jinzhong City, Shanxi Province, is located in the southeast of Jinzhong City, Shanxi Province, on the west side of the middle section of Taihang Mountain. The boundary line is between 36 45'-37' north latitude17' and13 6'-13 48' east longitude. Heshun in the north, Yushe in the west, Wuxiang and Licheng in the south, Xingtai, Wu 'an and Shexian in Hebei. Zuoquan County covers an area of 2028 square kilometers, governs 5 towns and 5 townships, and has 379 administrative villages with a total population of 164067 (20 13).
