Mawan watermelon, a specialty of Dongying District, Dongying City, Shandong Province, is a geographical indication of national agricultural products.

Dongying District belongs to the continental climate of warm temperate monsoon, with four distinct seasons and abundant sunshine. The annual average temperature is 12.4℃, the accumulated temperature is greater than or equal to 0℃ and 4732℃, and the accumulated temperature is greater than or equal to 10℃ and 43 10℃. The average annual sunshine hours are 2779.7 hours and the average annual rainfall is 554 mm, which is suitable for planting watermelon.

The quality of Mawan watermelon products requires symmetrical melon shape, bright and beautiful skin color pattern, high fruit maturity and medium fruit shape. The average fruit weight is 3.5 kg, the skin is thin, the edible rate is high, the flesh is crisp and tender, the meat color is bright red and even, the honey is sweet and juicy, the flavor is good, and it is rich in mineral salts and various vitamins. 2. Yellow River saury

The Yellow River saury is a migratory fish, which is produced in the Yellow River estuary of Dongying City, Shandong Province, spawns in the sea and grows in the Yellow River. The yellow river swordfish is shaped like a sharp knife and its silver light flashes, so it is named swordfish.

Every spring in March, swordfish swim upstream along the Yellow River estuary and return to Dongping Lake to lay eggs. After hatching and fattening, the fish eggs go downstream along the Yellow River and enter the Bohai Sea for growth and wintering. The fish season lasts for more than two months every year. Adult saury in the Yellow River Estuary is 30 ~ 40 cm long, with gold on the back and silver on the abdomen, fat scales, many spines and soft flesh, and delicious flavor.

3. Hekou Dongzao

Hekou Dongzao is a precious fruit resource in Hekou District of Dongying City, which is named because of its late maturity (65438+1mid-October). Winter jujube is big and round, with green skin, yellow skin and red skin. Bright and moist, thin skin and crisp meat, fresh and juicy, sweet and delicious, containing a variety of amino acids and vitamins needed by the human body. 5. Guangrao Yao donkey meat

Yao donkey meat is a famous local food in Guangrao County, Dongying City, Shandong Province. "Goose meat in the sky, donkey meat on the ground", a kind of donkey meat with a long history, is famous far and near. Founded in the 12th year of Tongzhi in Qing Dynasty, it was recommended by Cui, a local martial artist, to Beijing Ministry of War for the exclusive use of samurai.
