The pomfret is an offshore pelagic fish, belonging to the order Perciformes, family Pomfret. The body is short and high, extremely lateral compression, slightly diamond-shaped. The head is small, the kiss is round, the mouth is small, the teeth are fine. Ventral fin disappears in adult fish, and the caudal fin is quite y forked. The lower lobe is longer, the body silvery white, the upper part slightly greenish gray. Feeds on small fish, jellyfish and diatoms.
The hamakura is divided into four species: white hamakura, yellow hamakura, black hamakura, and eagle hamakura, of which the eagle hamakura and white hamakura are relatively similar in appearance and flesh, the difference lies in the front of the mouth of the eagle hamakura is inverted hook, and the white hamakura does not have.
