Yellow River stones in Ningxia are mostly seasonal sandstone, quartzite, granite and glutenite, with shallow metamorphic quartzite and sedimentary rocks in between, which are formed by long-term scouring, denudation, washing and grinding of colored chemical elements, among which iron-dyed quartzite is the majority.
