Functions and Indications Cough, asthma, analgesic, anti-cancer. Used for bronchitis, asthma, gout, breast cancer, nasopharyngeal carcinoma, salivary gland tumor.
Use and dosage Internal use: Ground, 0.3-0.6g, steamed with honey. External use: appropriate amount, freshly pounded, vinegar dressing.
The original form of the mushroom is a perennial bovine herb, about 20cm high. Underground bulb is small, globose, diameter about Icm, russet skin. Stem single, into the soil part of the white, above ground part of the purplish. Leaves striped all striped lanceolate, ca. 15cm long, ca. 0.5cm wide, apex acuminate, base into a sheath-like clasp. Racemes terminal, with 2-3 flowers; pedicels 2-3 cm long, ca. 1 mm thick; involucral bracts leaflike, striate, as long as or longer than pedicels, apex curved hooklike; tepals 6, purple. Capsule obovate or ovoid, ca. 5 mm wide, angled. Flowering and fruiting June-July.
Habitat distribution Ecological environment: born in grassland on mountain slopes or under pine forests.
