What are the classifications of zucchini according to cultivation?
In China, because there are few kinds of zucchini used as cultivated species in production and few kinds of zucchini introduced from abroad, Chinese scholars generally divide zucchini into three types according to the length of stems and vines, namely dwarf type, semi-creeping type and creeping type.

(1) Dwarf type

Melon vines and internodes are shorter and more precocious. The vines are 30 ~ 60 cm long. The first female flower is inserted in the 3rd to 8th nodes, and then one flower appears every 1 ~ 2 nodes or every node. The main varieties are mosaic zucchini, upright zucchini, a nest of monkey zucchini, scallop zucchini, curved-necked zucchini and straight-necked zucchini.

(2) Semi-creeping type

Lianas are 60 ~ 100 cm in length, with slightly longer internodes. The first female flower of the main vine is planted in the 8th ~11node, and it is medium-ripe. This type is mostly a local variety. For example, the flower-skinned zucchini in Linyi, Shandong Province, and the semi-prostrate naked zucchini. This kind of zucchini is rare in cultivation. However, with the continuous improvement of zucchini cultivation techniques, the proportion of semi-creeping zucchini planted in greenhouse will increase.

(3) Types of creepage

The plant has a strong growth potential, the vine length can reach 100 ~ 400 cm or even longer, and the internodes are long. The first female flower of the main vine usually appears after 10 and matures later. Zucchini has stronger disease resistance and heat resistance than dwarf type, but weaker cold resistance. The results are scattered, the maturity is not concentrated, and the harvest period is longer. The fruit is tender, with little fiber and good quality. The weight of single fruit is 2 ~ 2.5 kg, and the total output is high. Suitable for summer cultivation. The main varieties are stupid zucchini, pull-seedling zucchini, Shanxi Jiaocheng sprawling zucchini and other local varieties, as well as round zucchini widely planted in Europe and America suitable for carving. Some acorn zucchini and ornamental zucchini also belong to the rattan type.
