Lantern Festival originated in the Western Han Dynasty. According to legend, Lv Hou, who was domineering after the death of Emperor Hui of Han Dynasty, usurped power and appointed a large number of Lu's cronies, with eunuchs in power. After Lv Hou's death, Emperor Wen of the Han Dynasty ascended the throne with the help of the old loyal ministers in 179 BC, and absorbed all opinions. On the fifteenth day of the first month, he swept away the remnants of Zhu Lu in one fell swoop. Because "night" and "night" were synonymous in ancient times. The first month is also called "January". In order to commemorate the 15th day of the first month, Emperor Wen of Han designated this day as "Lantern Festival".

From the Sui Dynasty to the Tang Dynasty, to Li Longji, Emperor Xuanzong of the Tang Dynasty, in order to show the prosperity of the Tang Dynasty, the old customs were followed one by one. On the Lantern Festival, lanterns were decorated to celebrate the carnival, and "a song is like the sea, and thousands of lights are like the night", which made this festival more prosperous.
