2. Mid-late maturity subregion in hilly area of Huanghuai Plain.

The annual accumulated temperature ≥ 10℃ is 3500-4500℃. The safe growth period of rice is about 130- 140 days. During the growing period, sunshine 1200- 1600 hours, precipitation 400-800 mm, drought in winter and spring, and abundant and concentrated rain in summer and autumn. Most of the northern Haihe River and Beijing-Tianjin rice areas are medium-maturing japonica rice, while most of the Huanghuai areas are double-cropping wheat rice and indica rice. Rice blast and Chilo suppressalis are more harmful. In the future, it is necessary to develop water-saving rice planting techniques and implement comprehensive management of rice fields.
