Scientific name of Chinese herbal medicine: Centella asiatica
Perennial creeping herbs, often curled into a ball, have slender stems, roots and dense nodules. A slender plant with fan-shaped leaves and small white flowers. And take root and extend along the stolon. There are long reddish stems with round leaves on them, which are bright green and cup-shaped, with rounded teeth at the leaf margin, and small leaf clusters and roots are produced at the stem nodes. Up to 50cm high.
Nature and taste: bitter, pungent and cold.
Meridian tropism: liver, spleen and kidney meridian tropism.
Indications: clearing away heat and promoting diuresis, detoxicating and reducing swelling. Used for damp-heat jaundice, heatstroke and diarrhea, sand stranguria and blood stranguria, carbuncle, swelling and sore, and traumatic injury.
Administration and dosage: oral administration: decoction,15-30g; Double the fresh products. Or soak in wine, or pound juice. External use: appropriate amount, tamping or wringing juice coating.
