Black herring is not as active as grass carp, but it is much stronger than grass carp. Black herring is a carnivorous fish. Black herring takes mollusks at the bottom of the water as its main food source, and especially likes to eat snail meat, so black herring is also called snail green. Black herring also eats clams, mussels, shrimps, dragonflies, larvae and water worms. In artificial fish farms, black herring naturally mainly uses granular plant bait artificially put in. Bran, bran powder, cooked sweet potato, bean powder, rice grains and grass are also bait for herring.
