How long is the growth period of frog? What to feed it if it is artificially fed? How to make frog feed?
The growth period of frogs is about 3-6 months, and frogs eat insects. There are probably dried shrimps and maggots.

artificially raised

Frogs generally refer to Rana tigris, which is a national second-class protected animal. Its optimum growth temperature is 22℃ ~ 28℃, and when the temperature is below 4℃ or above 35℃, it is easy to cause death. When the temperature is lower than 12℃, stop eating and hibernate, and when the temperature rises to 16℃ in spring, hibernate ends. The tadpoles of that year can grow to about 15g after 6 months (May to October). The nutrition and meat quality of Rana tigris can be compared with that of Rana spinosa. Now the number of Rana spinosa is small, and it is difficult to breed it artificially. Only Rana tigris can replace it.

site selection

1. site selection: it should be quiet, convenient for water intake and drainage, pollution-free water quality and easy for management, with an area of 2 square meters as the best.

2. Overwintering pond: The water retention capacity must be good during construction, otherwise, when the water level is low and the pond water is dry in winter, a large number of Rana tigris will die due to lack of water or freezing injury. In northern Fujian, it is better to build a heat preservation shed, but it is not necessary to heat it. It is best to use a cement pool with a depth of more than 1.5m and a water level of about 1m. A rest platform accounting for about 1/4 of the total area should be built in the middle of the pool, or a simple rest platform floating on the water. Some hidden facilities, such as straw, rubble, bamboo tube, etc., should be put at the bottom of the pool for the tiger frog to escape and hibernate.

3. Oviposition pond and incubation pond: The best area is 2 square meters, so that several groups of parent frogs can be saved to avoid mutual interference, and frogs can be used as incubation ponds after laying eggs. The depth of the pond is about 1.5m, and the water level can be adjusted according to the demand, that is, .2 ~ 1m. If possible, it is best to build a mud pond. If a mud pond is built, the periphery and bottom should be sealed with plastic film, and the pond should be kept clean without any pollution. At the same time, it should be kept quiet, otherwise it will affect the spawning and hatching of fertilized eggs of parent frogs.

4. Tadpole pond, metamorphosis pond: it adopts step or slope type, and the height drop is about .2 ~ .3m. In this way, the water level of the pond gradually decreases with the metamorphosis of tadpoles, and part of the land is left for the metamorphosis of young frogs to inhabit.

5. Breeding ponds for young and adult frogs: Water-mud ponds can be built if conditions permit. If earth ponds are used, the walls of the ponds should be lined with a layer of plastic film, and one end of the ponds is slightly higher than the other end, which is convenient for drainage and cleaning. When raising young frogs, the higher end can be used as a bait table without flooding. The depth of the pool is about .5m, but there should be a fence or purse seine with a height of 1m around it, and the purse seine should be slightly inclined in the pool to prevent escape.
