The history of fast food restaurants
Although fast food restaurants are often regarded as symbols of modern technology and culture, the history of fast food restaurants is probably as old as that of cities, and there are different appearances between cultures. There were vendors selling bread and olives in ancient Roman cities, noodle shops in East Asian cultures and fried bean balls in the Middle East. In Britain, although chain fast food restaurants have become very common, traditional English take-away food such as fish and chips can still be seen everywhere. By the end of the 20th century, Italian, China and Indian cuisines were added to these takeaway foods.
