There are so many places to visit in Beijing. There are so many places to visit in Beijing, and I'm sure you've already seen a lot of sights. But don't go to Badaling Great Wall.
Suggest seeing the Mutianyu Great Wall (the one Obama's wife Michelle climbed during her visit to China, and also the location for the movie "Misfits 2")
I've been living in Beijing for close to four years now, so I'll tell you about my favorite day trip, "Beijing's Central Axis".
Wake up early in the morning and go to the Drum Tower to see the drumming show (the ancient people used to ring the bell to tell the time), which starts at 9:30, 10:30, and 11:30 a.m.
Walk along the Smoky Pocket Street to Houhai, and then to Shichahai. Then go all the way to Jingshan Park
Jingshan Park is where the Chongzhen Emperor hanged himself, and the best place to overlook the entire Forbidden City.
Then walk down North Long Street, to Xihuamen Street. This section of the road is the most marvelous, your east is the Forbidden City, west is Zhongnanhai. Xihuamen Street to the east you can enter the Forbidden City's Duanmen and Wumen (you don't need to buy a ticket to the Forbidden City).
When it's almost 3pm, go to the Laoshe Teahouse for tea and comedy.
Then go to "Carbon Flower Roasted Leg of Lamb" near Dongzhimen to experience a big piece of meat cutting and eating.
Finally, go to the Jianghu Bar in Nanluoguxiang and listen to the niche bands. It starts around 9:30pm every night.
