What is talcum powder?
Talcum powder is an industrial product.

The main component of talc is magnesium silicate containing water in talc, which belongs to monoclinic system and is an industrial product. The crystals of talcum powder are pseudo-hexagonal or diamond-shaped, usually in the form of dense blocks, leaves, radiations and fibrous aggregate. Colorless, transparent or white, but it is light green, light yellow, light brown or even light red because it contains a small amount of impurities; Cleavage surface is pearl luster.

Talcum powder is usually used as filler for plastics and paper products, rubber filler and adhesive for rubber products, and high-grade paints and coatings. It has excellent physical and chemical properties such as lubricity, fire resistance, acid resistance, insulation, high melting point, chemical inactivity, good hiding power, softness, good luster and strong adsorption.

Types of talcum powder

1, chemical grade

Uses: Used as reinforcing and modifying filler in rubber, plastic, paint and other chemical industries. Features: increase the stability of product shape, improve tensile strength, shear strength, bending strength and compressive strength, reduce deformation, elongation and thermal expansion coefficient, have high whiteness and strong particle size uniformity and dispersion.

2, ceramic grade

Uses: Used for manufacturing high-frequency porcelain, radio porcelain, various industrial ceramics, building ceramics, daily-use ceramics and ceramic glazes. Features: no discoloration at high temperature, enhanced whiteness after calcination, uniform density, good luster and smooth surface.

3. Paper grade

Usage: Used for all kinds of high-grade and low-grade paper products. Characteristics: Paper powder has the characteristics of high whiteness, stable particle size and small wear. Paper made of this powder can achieve smooth and delicate paper, save raw materials and improve the service life of paper.
