When I was a kid, my family was in a bad situation, and in the 1980s in the countryside, pickles were a necessity for every family, and there were many kinds of pickles, such as pickled cabbages, pickled cowpeas, pickled cucumbers, pickled radishes, pickled peppers, and so on, and so forth, and so forth.
At that time there was no greenhouse vegetables, spring planting and autumn harvest, the early autumn season, a lot of seasonal vegetables on the market in large quantities, there was no refrigerator in the countryside at that time, eaten vegetables are not well preserved easily rotted, and can only be dried and pickled up.
At the end of the fall, fresh vegetables off the market, pickles have become the main character of the table, the corner of the house always have a row of open pickles altar, three meals a day is always inevitable to set a bowl of pickles, from the pickle altar to touch out a few, sometimes steamed sometimes fried, put some chili pepper, salty, spicy, sour, very next meal.
To rotten pickles, hooked my desire, not only it activated my taste buds, more importantly, it contracted me a lot of memories.
Childhood table, are related to pickles, secondary school, need to bring vegetables, Sunday afternoon, backpack carrying a jar of pickles went to school.
