The Wang family was very poor, with only three acres of barren land, unable to make ends meet. Wang Tingan had to go to Wuxi to make a living, first in the pawnshop cooking, Wang Tingan read a year and a half of private school, have some culture, very young especially like to eat wontons, and usually like to watch wonton stalls and stores making wontons. Since his father was cooking in Shanghai, and his younger uncle was cooking in Wuxi's Xifucheng family, he grew up with the spirit of this area, and was particularly good at studying. His wife Zhou, a native of Lihuazhuang in Wuxi's North Gate, where wild rice is abundant, has been in Wuxi since she was very young, working with her parents in the doughnut business. Because of his stubbornness, Wang Tingan was often in conflict with the pawnshop owner. Therefore, he quit his job as a cook at the pawnshop and, with the help of his wife, set up his own wonton stall. At that time, there was only a stove, a few door panels, is a very simple wonton stall. But Wang Tingan was very discerning, and set up this stall at the entrance of Sheng Lane, where there were many pedestrians, and it was very close to the park and Chong'an Temple. Many people who pass by the neighborhood will patronize this small wonton stall, so business is good.
