According to records, Hua Diao wine originated in the Da Wen Kou culture period in Shandong Province 6,000 years ago, representing the long history of Chinese wine culture. In the Qing Dynasty, Liang Zhangzhu recounted a folk legend in his book "The Wanderer": a rich man gave birth to a daughter, and at the time of the full moon, he brewed a few bottles of wine and hid them in his cellar. 18 years later, when his daughter was about to get married, Fuwen took out the stored wine and painted "dragon and phoenix presenting auspiciousness" on the outside of the wine altar, Dragon and Phoenix", "Full Moon", "Goddess of Mercy" and other festive patterns on the outside of the wine altar as a dowry gift for his daughter. Because of the beautiful colorful patterns on the outside of the wine altar, people called this wine "Huadiao". Since then, "Huadiao" has become synonymous with the birth of children in Shaoxing, and to this day, if someone has a daughter, people will jokingly say "Congratulations Huadiao into the door" (male bride price). Later, even the birth of a boy, but also in accordance with the brewing, buried wine, looking forward to the son in the Scholar to celebrate drinking, so, Huadiao wine is also known as "Scholar Red".
