Starch is formed by dehydration between glucose units, and 1 H2O is removed between two glucose units, 2 molecules of water between three glucose units and (n- 1) water between n glucose units.

So if it is a chain, its general formula should be two more H and 1 O, and the general formula should be H2O (C6h10o5) n.
