The shape of small yellow croaker is similar to that of large yellow croaker, but smaller than that of large yellow croaker, with a body length of about 20 cm. The back of the body is grayish brown, the side and abdomen are yellow, and the edge of the dorsal fin is grayish brown. Pseudosciaena crocea is distributed in the southern Yellow Sea, East China Sea and South China Sea, while Pseudosciaena crocea is distributed in the Yellow Sea, Bohai Sea, East China Sea and the west coast of North Korea.
