Pierre-Louis Padang Coffin (born November 1, 1967 in France) is a film director and animation designer.
In 2010, Coffin rose to fame with the animated film "The Hurt Locker", which he co-directed with Chris Renard***, and went on to direct the sequels "The Hurt Locker 2", "Big Eyes, Little Yellow Man" and "The Hurt Locker 3".

Personal history
Coffin's father was a French diplomat and his mother was an Indonesian writer. Coffin studied film and animation at the Gobelins School of the Image, and after completing his studies, he went to work at an animation studio in London, England. During this time, he worked on films with director Steven Spielberg***.
After leaving London, Coffin worked as a freelance animation designer and supervised animation design within a French company. In 1997, Coffin began his directorial career by directing a short film called Pings, and in 2010, he worked with Chris Renard*** on the animated film Hurt Locker for Universal Pictures, and again in 2013 on the sequel Hurt Locker 2".
