Li Shizhen recorded in Compendium of Materia Medica that "gravy is like meat. Attached to a big stone, it has a head and a tail, and it is a creature. " Ge Hong, a Taoist priest in the Eastern Jin Dynasty, recorded in Bao Puzi that "Zhi Zhu's broken powder, or water, makes people intellectually fit and live forever." Tai sui is divided into fibrous tai sui and fleshy tai sui. Fibrous tai sui is produced in mountainous areas, inelastic and close to ganoderma lucidum. Meat glue is produced in soil, which is elastic and fleshy. The growth of Tai Sui is very slow, only 5% a year. Generally speaking, Tai Sui doesn't eat directly.
