Dongpo elbow has the characteristics of fat but not greasy, crispy but not rotten, with good color, fragrance, taste and shape. Dongpo elbow soup is milky white, snow beans are white, pig elbow is soft and palatable, original and fragrant. By the end of 20 12, the annual output of canned Dongpo elbow reached 3,000 tons, the output value reached more than/kloc-0.5 billion yuan, and the total profit and tax was nearly 30 million yuan.

Producers within the producing area of Dongpo elbow (Meishan producing area) may apply to the Dongpo District Bureau of Quality and Technical Supervision of Meishan City, Sichuan Province for the use of "special marks for geographical indication products", which shall be audited by the Sichuan Provincial Bureau of Quality and Technical Supervision and announced after being reported to the General Administration of Quality Supervision, Inspection and Quarantine for approval. The testing organization of Dongpo elbow (Meishan production area) was selected by Sichuan Provincial Bureau of Quality and Technical Supervision among the testing organizations that meet the qualification requirements.
