Overview
Boston is located in the northeastern part of the United States, bordering on the Atlantic Ocean, Massachusetts Bay, and spanning the estuaries of the Charles and Mistletoe Rivers, and is the largest port city in New England and the capital of Massachusetts. Background of Twinning
In the early 1980's, the Mayor of Boston, Mr. Corwin White, called Mr. Li Yong, a representative of the city of Boston. Li Yong, the representative of Mayor of Boston, called Yang Shangkun, the then director of the Guangzhou Municipal Reform Commission, and invited him to attend the World Conference on Large Cities held in Boston on September 21 of the same year, and expressed his hope that Boston would be twinned as a friendly city.
