Speaking of my hometown, it is known as the desert oasis-Minqin.
Let's talk about its special geographical location first. Located in the northwest of Gansu Province, northeast of Hexi Corridor and downstream of Shiyang River Basin. East, west and north are surrounded by Tengger Desert and Badain Jaran Desert. There are Liangzhou District and Wuwei City in the south, Jinchang, the capital of nickel in the west, and the left and right flags of Inner Mongolia in the northeast and northwest. Total area 160 16 km2. With a total population of about 300,000, it is a bright pearl embedded in the main road of the ancient Silk Road.
The climate here is hot in Leng Xia in winter, with more sandstorms and less rainfall. However, in recent years, with the care of leaders at all levels and the strong support of their hometown elders and people from all walks of life, Minqin people have made great efforts to prevent and control desertification and achieved remarkable results. There has never been a sandstorm like that since April 24, 20 10, which shows the determination of hardworking Minqin people to fight against sandstorms to the end.
Minqin mainly focuses on agriculture and animal husbandry. Specialty products include yellow river honeydew melon, white melon, tulip, black melon seeds, fennel and so on. Among them, black melon seeds are exported to Japan, Russia, Canada and European countries, enjoying a world-renowned reputation. Traditional famous foods are: fried meat with green pepper, shredded potatoes, cold rice noodles, Misha bean jelly, and natural and pollution-free shallots.
There are world-famous tourist attractions here, such as Sanjiaocheng Forest Farm, Hong Yashan Reservoir, desert park, Suwushan Park, Dongzhen Temple and Qingtu Lake under restoration ... Sanjiaocheng Forest Farm is a green barrier with a length of 25 kilometers and a width of 1-5 kilometers, which protects the farmland of 48 villages such as Hongshaliang Township and Xiqu Town from sandstorms.
