The owners of Xianhezhuang hotpot are Chen He, Ye Yiqian and Zhu Zhen. In 2015, Chen He and Ye Yiqian teamed up with Zhu Zhen to establish Fujian Xianhezhuang Catering Investment Management Co., Ltd. and opened the first "Xianhezhuang" in Fuzhou.

In June 2017, "Xianhezhuang" opened its second branch. As of January 2020, "Xianhezhuang" has opened more than 300 branches in 108 cities including Beijing, Shanghai, Xi'an, Chengdu, and Shenzhen.

In April 2021, the media exposed that a couple was injured by a falling ceiling while dining at Xianhezhuang, a Chenhe hotpot restaurant. He was also burned by the bottom of the pot, and the injured customer failed to claim 80,000 yuan. On April 11, Chen Hefang issued an apology statement: Once again, we deeply apologize to the two customers, conduct comprehensive investigations and rectifications, and will never tolerate safety issues.

The apology statement stated that they immediately sent the customer to the hospital of their choice for treatment, and accompanied the customer for treatment five times to pay the relevant expenses.
