Slugs can secrete a kind of mucus, which is silvery white after drying, so the fruits climbed by this insect will leave traces of white mucus, which reduces the commercial value of fruits. Slugs overwinter as adults or larvae in the moist soil at the roots of crops. From May to July, it caused a lot of damage in the fields. In summer, the temperature rises and the activity weakens. In autumn, when the temperature drops, this kind of activity is harmful.

Prevention and control methods: ① Use high border cultivation and cover with plastic film to reduce the chance of harm. (2) Sprinkle lime or plant ash on the ridge, and the slug will dehydrate and die if it climbs over. ③ During the strawberry growing period, the ground can be sprayed with 150 times ammonia solution or 18% mirex granules, and the control can be carried out every 6672m 1 ~ 1.5 kg.
