Automation has penetrated into various industries, and even robots are used to treat vegetables! Let us feel the shocking power brought by science and technology again!
Spanish vegetable producer El Dulze reduced the number of employees from 500 to 100 by using robots.
The El Dulze factory in Murcia has installed 68 robots, which can handle about 550,000 vegetables every day. Through the improvement of sanitation and treatment, the robot system reduced the rejection rate of vegetables from 20% to 5%.
It is understood that the company mainly uses Fanuc robots to combine the vision system with the production line and classify vegetables into containers or plastic packaging bags.
Such a soft and crisp vegetable passed through the gentle iron hand of the robot, but it was not damaged at all.
The general manager of the factory said, "Our business belongs to labor-intensive industries. Although we only need the most basic skills, there is a serious shortage of labor in this area. Many workers in this industry are immigrants. The real problem we face is the high turnover rate of these workers-they always seem to come and go. "
"Investing in the introduction of robots and reducing manual operations will make everything more hygienic, not only reducing the damage caused by processing to vegetables, but most importantly, not worrying about labor shortage."
At present, the factory's goal is to increase overseas sales, thanks to the "higher level" investment, that is, investment in robot production lines. The introduction of robots is of great positive significance to the business, which can better focus on providing consistent high-quality products and maintain competitiveness.
