Synopsis

In the late 1970s, Du Juan, a thirty-year-old woman with the height and appearance of a child, adopts a girl named Xiaoxiao. For the sake of Xiaoxiao's dream of dancing, Du Juan starts a snack business in the city. After several years of struggle, Du Juan's business is on the right track and she sends Xiaoxiao to a professional dance school. However, the vain Xiaoxiao began to resent Du Juan.

In order not to drag Xiaoxiao down, Du embarks on a quest to find Xiaoxiao's real parents, and the mystery of Xiaoxiao's birth is revealed by a small dancing shoe left behind many years ago. For the sake of Xiaoxiao's future, Du chooses to send Xiaoxiao back to her birth mother, dance teacher Zhou Lan, and remains a silent guardian of Xiaoxiao, who doesn't get the life she wants in her new home.
