At present, there are three kinds of fishing lines commonly used in Lua, namely PE line, nylon line and carbon line. The difference between the three kinds of line is very big, the actual application of fishing scenarios are also different, next I will talk about their differences in detail.
1. PE line
PE line, commonly known as cloth line, is a multi-stranded chemical fiber compiled after the dip glue made of fishing line, but also is the most used in the domestic Lujia a kind of fishing line, its main advantage is that the pulling force is large, the diameter of the line is small, the quality of light. These advantages make it very easy to cast the bait when it is not easy to be affected by the wind.
And it is very abrasion-resistant, so you don't need to worry about the thread cup wearing out during normal casting. However, there is one big advantage and disadvantage of pe line. It doesn't have any stretch, which is also called elasticity, which makes it very sensitive, but at the same time, because there is no cushioning, it is easy to break the fish's mouth or cause the hook to fall off and cause the fish to run away.
2. Nylon line
Nylon line is a kind of fishing line made of nylon as raw material, nylon is a subsidiary product under the petroleum industry chain, and its refining technology is very mature, so the price is the cheapest among these lines, the price is only about 1/10 of the pe line, and it has a smooth appearance, low friction, and won't wear out the guide ring. At the same time, it has good ductility and high elasticity, so it is not easy for the fish to break the hook free after stabbing the fish.
But its disadvantages are also obvious. For the same tension, its wire diameter is about 2~3 times that of pe wire. This leads to greater wind resistance when casting, which affects the casting distance. Because of its high ductility, it also leads to sluggishness, which often leads to missing the best time to stab a fish. And it needs to be very hard to stab the fish, the amplitude is very big.
3. Carbon line
Carbon line is made of polymer material containing fluorine and carbon molecules, it has very high abrasion resistance and strength, but the disadvantage is that it is very hard, it is difficult to reel in inside the fishing reel, usually used as a sub line with pe line.
How to choose, after knowing the difference between the three kinds of line, we can easily make a choice, nylon line is malleable and elastic, but poor sense. We can usually use it for fishing fish with big bites, such as bass and blackfish.
Because of the good sensibility and high strength of pe line, I usually recommend using it with carbon line, which is suitable for fishing any species of fish.
In addition to the type of line, their pulling power is also a point we should consider, the general line number will be divided into many models, such as 0.4, 0.6, 1, 1.2 and so on. The specific parameters will be different for different manufacturers. Personally, I suggest that you can look at the tension value of the line to make a choice.
For example, 2~10LB lines are suitable for fishing species below 2KG, such as whitebait, red-eye, carp, etc. 10~20Lb lines can be used for fishing species of 2~10KG, such as catfish, blackfish, bass, etc. But these are not set in stone. But these are not set in stone, with the addition of rod and reel unloading, we can actually achieve the effect of catching big fish with small rod and small line.
So when we are still in the novice stage, I personally recommend using a spinning reel with 0.6~0.8 pe line to use, which will be more versatile.
