Blood orange is a variety of orange, commonly known as red orange. It has dark red blood-like pulp and juice. The unique dark pulp of blood orange is due to the existence of anthocyanins.
Blood orange juice contains 9.9g of total sugar, 0.89g of total acid, 2.8% of soluble solid/kloc-0, 4.30 of solid-acid ratio, and 0/kloc-0 of sugar and acid ratio. Fruit juice is rich in polyphenols such as vitamin E, β-carotene, anthocyanins and flavonoids, and has physiological functions such as antioxidation, prevention of cardiovascular diseases and inhibition of cancer.
