There are many similarities between the two species of frogs, but there are also some obvious differences. So how do we distinguish between frogs and toads?
1. In terms of morphological features. The toad has rough skin, looks bloated, obese, bigger than the frog, and the back is full of big and small bumps, which are the sebaceous glands of the toad. The frog belongs to a slightly elongated, slender body figure, two eyes round and bulging, the sides of the head there are two slightly bulging small bags. These are its eardrums, through which the frog can hear sounds. The frog's back is green, very smooth, soft and patterned, and its belly is white. It allows it to hide in the grass and catch prey easily, as well as protect itself.
2. Color differentiation. The color of frogs is mostly green on the back, or cyan, and the belly is white. Toads are mostly earthy, brownish-yellow, or grayish-brown, with a belly that is close to the color of the back.
3. Different habits. Toads like to hide in mud caves, under damp stones, within the grass, by the side of the ditch. Their skin is prone to water loss, so they tend to lurk and hide during the day, and come out at night and dusk. They feed on beetles, moths, snails and fly maggots, and are relatively easy to breed in captivity. Frogs often inhabit rivers, ponds and rice paddies, mainly in the grass at the water's edge, but sometimes they can also lurk in the water. Most of the activities at night, to insects as the main food, but also take some snails, snails, shrimp, small fish, etc., most of the food for agricultural pests.
