Yixing can be called "cave world". Shenqi's Shanjuan Cave and Zhanggong Cave are known as "the first ancient relic in the south of the Yangtze River" and "the wonders in the sea". The famous sentence "Be good at rolling the masses and marveling at the world" expresses people's high appreciation for the two caves in Yixing. Since ancient times, few poets have praised the lakes and mountains, and few painters and painters have performed stunts for them. However, the main factor that makes it unique today is ceramic technology. As early as 5,000 years ago, when new stone tools were used, the ancestors here invented and created pottery. From hard pottery and primitive celadon with several patterns to exquisite purple pottery, the pottery-making technology has been continuously improved. According to legend, Heshi once made pottery in Yixing during the Spring and Autumn Period. There are fine works to be tested in Jin and Song Dynasties. During the Ming and Qing Dynasties, the display of various colors made Yixing pottery a world famous product. Today, Dingshu Town, the center of Yixing ceramic industry, has changed from a small town where people used to make brick kilns everywhere to a multi-variety ceramic industrial base with more than 20 factories and nearly 20,000 workers.
