Why don't pineapples of all ethnic groups grow pineapples? I think there are two main reasons, one is output and the other is sales.
Let's talk about output first. The output of pineapple planted in Chinese mainland is lower than that of pineapple, and the management cost is higher.
Pineapple contains bromelain, which will decompose human oral mucosa and lead to "rotten mouth", so pineapple needs to be soaked in salt water before eating, and this enzyme should be removed first. Pineapple does not contain this enzyme, so it is much more convenient to eat.
For insects, the effect is the same. Bromelain evolved from pineapple can make insects afraid to eat it, or it will be killed if eaten, which makes pineapple less vulnerable to pests and more resistant to germs. However, pineapple does not contain this enzyme, and insect pests will lead to a decline in its output, and spraying pesticides and killing insects will also require more management costs.
In addition to sales, the price of pineapple is several times lower than that of pineapple, but the output of pineapple is high. Although the price is cheap, the income is considerable.
Sales of pineapples are significantly higher. Many roadside stalls sell pineapples. They skillfully remove the pineapple and soak it in salt water, so customers don't need to do it themselves. Pineapple is more suitable to buy and cut at home, because there is no need for vendors to provide services and the price is expensive, so the market for pineapple is very narrow.
Take the famous Xuwen pineapple as an example, its annual output accounts for 38% of the whole country. In every three China pineapples, 1 comes from Xuwen. Xu Wen also introduced high-quality varieties such as Hawaiian pineapple and golden diamond pineapple, which are several times more expensive than ordinary pineapples, but the cultivation amount is very small.
